About this Speaker

Sydney is the Climate Policy and Advocacy Director at Oatly’s Climate/Culture Lab. There, she works with her team on bold pilot projects that lead business and culture. These projects serve as proof of Oatly’s values and scale. Sydney makes sure to infuse each project with informed and brave best-in-class climate justice practices and resources. Her work drives Oatly’s connection to communities and policymakers.  


At Oatly and beyond, Sydney is deeply committed to transforming the food industry. She uses principles of environmental justice to do so. She helps people change the way they eat and grow food. This work will help lead to a better future for people and the planet. Before Oatly, Sydney served as the Senior Political Director for Climate Power. There, she led a team of seasoned political strategists to shift climate politics and policy in the United States election cycles. Sydney began her career in the public sector, at the White House Environmental Council. She helped to launch President Barack Obama’s U.S. Climate Action Plan. Sydney earned a B.A. in Journalism and Mass Communications from North Carolina A&T State University. She also earned a Juris Doctorate degree from the Maurice A. Deane School of Law at Hofstra University. Today, Sydney lives in Washington, D.C., with her loving dog, Reya.
