About this Speaker

Matthew Martinec is a Senior Advisor for CSRS, working across its Resilience and Government Advisory Practices.  In that role, he helps public entities to position projects, programs and policies that support resilience and adaptation goals. This often involves leveraging federal resources for implementation.  Prior to CSRS, Matthew was the Director of Planning and Major Projects for a midsized municipality. In that role, he supported numerous capacity building efforts. He also supported long range planning and policy adoption. He retooled land development regulations to help reach resilience goals across public, private, and nonprofit sectors. This resulted in some of Louisiana’s first major green infrastructure pilot projects; they give small and midsized local governments examples of comprehensive community engagement around resilience goals. Matthew is a member of the American Institute of Certified Planners. He has graduate degrees in Community and Regional Planning and Economics from the University of Texas and the American University in Cairo. He lives in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, with his wife Emily, and two children, Hughes and William.
